International Management Institute

Weatherhead students can get to know more about business in Europe and earn three credit hours! Currently, Weatherhead leads two offerings of MGMT 315 – International Management Institute. The program rotates between visiting Frankfurt, Germany, Rouen, France and Tongji, China. All programs begin with pre-sessions held during the spring semester at CWRU before departure for the host country following the completion of spring final exams. We purposely run the program the two weeks following spring finals so that students are able to return in time to participate in full summer internships. The programs are conducted entirely in English, but students have the opportunity to learn a little of the language while abroad. Students must be in good academic standing to participate. Preferred Prerequisites/Co-Requisites: ECON 102 & 103, ACCT 101, and BAFI 355.

Estimated Costs

We attempt to keep the program costs to a minimum and allow students to make their own flight arrangements. In the past, the program cost has varied from $1,500 to $2,000, not including the cost of airfare or most meals. The program cost includes hotel, airport transportation, local transportation, fees for professional and cultural visits, and weekend trip (transportation, hotel, and any prearranged activities/visits). Because students register for the course as part of their spring load, there is no additional tuition expense associated with the class. International students are welcome to participate in MGMT 315, but if a visa is required it is the responsibility of the student to obtain the necessary visa. We will assist with documents required for visa processing.
