Student Career Development

Working in partnership with the Career Development Center makes managing your career easier and more effective. Current students should begin with the following steps to get the most out of working with our office.
- Begin by doing a thorough self-assessment using our online assessment tools. Make sure to read through the career guide(s) in your area of interest.
- Review our Resume Guidelines and Cover Letter Guidelines and make edits to your resume and cover letters based on these suggestions.
- Schedule an appointment for a one-on-one meeting with one of our career consultants. Be prepared for your meeting by completing the above steps in advance. Your consultant can assist with the right job search strategies for you, including identifying appropriate company contacts and developing a customized plan for achieving your career goals. To assist with your job search strategy discussion, please fill out the CDC Job Search Diagnosic and bring to your appointment.
- Log in to the Weatherhead CareerLink to post resumes, search job postings, check for on-campus recruiting activities and other career development tools. Please call us at 216.368.3662 if you need a password.
- Stay encouraged by learning from executives in our Mentor Program, sharing with other students in our Peer Mentor Program and reading up on our latest Success Stories!
- Log in to InterviewStream for online video practice interviews. InterviewStream can be accessed from your personal computer or at the Career Development Center (once you log in you can reserve a time slot on the calendar).
- Attention International Students: Please read these cautionary notes on job searching for international students.
